Among many rumors, myths, and legends that had been spread through gossip, hearsay, and oral traditions in the Central Continent many have the themes of a “Chosen One”. Of course, these kinds of stories aren’t exclusive to the Central Continent and have been documented in other parts of the world. But at its core, the theme of a chosen person or creature is not new, and many other similar stories follow it. However, quite a strange tale has been spreading recently, specifically to the forestry regions to the east of the Central Continent. 以上内容来自hlib.cc。更多中文H小说尽在hlib.cc。
According to those who have heard of it, an ancient temple had been uncovered recently by the Institute of Ancient Artifacts that contained glyphs that spoke of the coming of the King Slime Dragon after it had been translated. Along with the uncovering of the temple, there were strange slim hybrids with elemental breaths and dragon scales hibernating inside, attacking the archeologists responsible for the discovery. These draconic slimes then escaped before any could be captured and studied.
Immediately after fleeing the scene, the draconic slimes began to cause havoc, harassing every town and traveler they came across. They weren’t pushovers either as their hybrid abilities gave them potent destructive abilities, forcing The Adventurers Association to release an emergency commission for their capture or extermination. And so while everyone was still receiving news about these dangerous slimes, the slimes had already been scouting for their chosen lord. Their targets were smart dragons who were capable of rational thought and lived among humans and beasts. 以上内容来自hlib.cc。更多中文H小说尽在hlib.cc。
The slimes wouldn’t attack them but instead worship any smart dragon they see. They couldn’t talk, but the moment they came in contact with anyone’s body, they could communicate with their thoughts, either belittling those that stood in their way or praising dragons they saw as a candidate to be their new lord. Unfortunately, none were worthy of being the next King Slime Dragon, and when the slimes realized that the dragon they were following wasn’t the chosen one, they’d then turn on them and use them as a seedbed to reproduce before moving on to the next dragon.
From dragons who were only as tall as your average human to gigantic thirty-foot lizards, these draconic slimes could easily have their way with any of them thanks to special compounds in their body that allowed them to paralyze any creature with dragon blood, including dragon anthros. But they weren’t looking for any puny dragon beasts but the real, pure-blooded feral dragons that walked on four legs but had the intellect of a genius. So far, even after encountering a giant blacksmith dragon, the draconic slimes could not find a worthy lord, eventually leading them to the west side of the Central Continent where a cute, fluffy, yellow, and white dragon lived. 以上内容来自hlib.cc。更多中文H小说尽在hlib.cc。
“Wow… But no way these little guys would ever pick me! I mean, I am not that brave myself which isn’t a good characteristic for anyone called the ‘King Slime Dragon’!”
“Ehehe… Well, you never know! You are a special dragon. There aren’t many that can control two magic attunements, you know? But you should probably head home now. The restaurant is closing, and unless you want to help with the cleaning, then you should be out before I close the doors.” 以上内容来自hlib.cc。更多中文H小说尽在hlib.cc。
“Oops! Sorry!”
In a predominantly smart dragon and monster town, a dragon adventurer named Gazeal was just finishing up his late dinner by talking with one of the waiters who was his acquaintance. With the news of strange slimes targeting dragons from the eastern part of the Central Continent and slowly making their way to the west, Gazeal’s town of monsters and dragons was quite worried. Strong dragons that lived in the town had already left for the capital to try and lead the draconic slimes into a fortified location so that they could be captured or eradicated while those dragons that stayed were of average power or talent. 以上内容来自hlib.cc。更多中文H小说尽在hlib.cc。
Gazeal was one of those who stayed but those able-bodied that did stay were tasked by the mayor to remain vigilant in case the draconic slime ignored the bait of strong dragons congregating in the capital and decided to check every single dragon they sensed and came across thoroughly. And even though Gazeal was considered talented for his gift of ice and lightning magic, the fluffy yellow dragon didn’t seriously think they would be strong enough to be a candidate for the draconic slime’s destined leader.
Adding on to the fact that Gazeal wasn’t very brave for an adventurer, he was confident that he’d be left alone by these slimy scrutinizers. His only redeeming quality was his undying curiosity which would turn into bravery in situations like the time he really wanted to explore a haunted library and did not care about the ghosts that lived there. Although he is timid, Gazeal is still quite capable and uses his ice for offense and his lightning for defense. 以上内容来自hlib.cc。更多中文H小说尽在hlib.cc。
“Alright, good night, and see you tomorrow for breakfast! I guess I’ll be heading home now, hehe.”
After finally paying his tab, Gazeal leaves the restaurant and makes his way back home. Gazeal had a tiring day not only as an adventurer but also as an assistant librarian. Being curious about everything he sees and hears about, Gazeal loves to explore and investigate, even if it has gotten him into deep trouble once. At best, Gazeal could accidentally trespass in some forest spirit’s territory or at worst, be caught by some hungry plants. So far, it had been carnivorous plants so Gazeal was lucky he hadn’t been caught by one that fed off his male essence. 以上内容来自hlib.cc。更多中文H小说尽在hlib.cc。
“This place is always too excited about the holiday events. There are already orange lights strung about while some have been ordering the cobweb of giant spiders for an authentic Halloween decoration. There’s still a month to go, everyone!”
As Gazeal made his way home, he couldn’t help but comment on the Halloween decorations slowly propping up all around the town. But he was thankful that they weren’t immediately going to prepare for Christmas like certain pure human towns around his homeland when not a flake of snow had even fallen. At least the early decoration does make the night prettier than usual albeit a bit scary too as Gazeal could sometimes mistake fake decorative insects with real ones. 以上内容来自hlib.cc。更多中文H小说尽在hlib.cc。
The worst offender would be the slime pet shop which had what were cute, small-eyed, and usually featureless slimes on display replaced with giant morphing abominations. The decorations ranged from someone looking like they were being eaten alive to a monstrous goopy recreation of a werewolf. Gazeal, despite his towering height of 9 feet, still feels anxious about scary things. Thankfully, although the scary decorations were newly erected, it only took Gazeal a day to get used to it, and he was no longer afraid of passing by the pet shop.
“My lovely treehouse… Where would I be without you?” 以上内容来自hlib.cc。更多中文H小说尽在hlib.cc。
Being quite a large dragon, Gazeal’s home was located out of the town and in the woods, being a massive treehouse that was surrounded by a homey atmosphere. The tall trees made the house feel magical, and thanks to ever-advancing magic technology, Gazeal was able to decorate it with string lights for easy all-around illumination. Gazeal didn’t even have to pay any electric bills like some modernized cities of the Central Continent as he could simply use his lightning magic to light his treehouse up.
And so after scaling the nearby trees with small leaps from branch to branch, Gazeal lands on his porch, entering his quaint room and unslinging his leather satchel filled with papers and letters. Gazeal’s treehouse was only a single large bedroom while all his other belongings were placed to the side. Things like a desk, a bookshelf, and adventuring memorabilia on display were some examples of his belongings along with a big chest full of bags to wear. 以上内容来自hlib.cc。更多中文H小说尽在hlib.cc。
